Thanks man. GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR TOO!
Yesterday I spent about three hours fitting the butt. Sanding sides grinding tang got it real good. Or so I thought...
Shot some 100rnds no 20ga. Rifle was shooting pretty good. These are just loads I had that shot well in other guns. But I was able to shoot nice 1.5” 100Y groups.
Then the one side “repair” popped free and in looking a crack is opening up at the rear most tang.
OK, Im done. Gonna order a replacement stock soon. Cottage farms has them for about 150. Anyone bought from them or have any other suggestions for somewhere to get a stock?
Mine is a straight sided version and it needs a monte carlo for scope use and of coarse I want Walnuts. Thats the kicker. Many places sell the more common scalloped side butt and more still have std stocks no comb riser.

Here's a pic of the DIP trigger installed. You can see the gap at the rear. I would "do stuff", but it's aluminum and nice and black.

I wish I could fit that one to my 24V 30/30-20!! Mine has that replacement steel One thats long and I find it ugly.
But I have been told that with this model it requires tear down of action to change it. NOT to remove that front screw as it holds something inside the action.

I cracked the buttstock on mine when I put it back on after the cleaning and had to repair the cracks and relieve the top tang space a smidgen. It's all back together and I am leaving it alone. Again my efforts to go the range are thwarted. It is there open house this Saturday and they want people to leave their guns home and use theirs. Also, I have my 89 yo dad and my daughters b'day party in the evening. I can spend an hour or so driving to a gun range in Wisconsin on Sunday, but that's a lot of driving when the gun range near me is 3 miles away. GRRRR!

Stock has been fit and looks real good. Next is the pad. The butt is very small and even small Pads that I had on hand where too big. I ordered a specail one that should be OK. BUT its a thick pad that I didnt really need. More pics after pad is ground to fit. CW

I am off next week. I will head off to the (free) range with a few rifles. A week from Saturday, I will try the local (pay) range. I shot pistol yesterday. I also need to get some trap and skeet in there. On the fourth, I will hide under the bed.
