Hello All. I am Joe and I am the proud new owner of a Savage 24c Series N rifle. 22lr over 20 gauge. It has been refinished and appears to be in better than average condition for a rifle as old as me. The bores are the best part as they both look practically unused. You can see it has on old Dockendorff rear sight but it is missing the thumbwheel for elevation adjustment. I've ordered a Lyman 16b to remedy this and will be shooting it by the end of the week. Thanks for all the great info.

Its a re finish for sure. Re blue too. Makes a great looking gun for sure!! Savage never had spent the time to polish so well, before bluing. It was a working gun so they didnt take the time.
This is such a useful model too!! Enjoy!

Looks sweet! I am all for refinishing and upgrading these guns when they get scuffed up. I did that to my S-D. It is nicer than new.

Wow, great find on the Dockendorff part. Too late for me though. The Lyman 16b was $17 shipped off amazon. It’s mounted already. The Dockendorff was a bit loose in the mount. I’m glad it’s gone.
