My formerly repaired Buttstock is if the straight side variety. I can easily find the buttstocks with the scallops. The scallop buttstuck looks like all it needs is to remove the scallop and straighten the sides. Has anyone tried this, and do you think it is feasible? With all the work I need to do to repair my broken stock (pins, epoxy, forming, and refinishing), it would probably be a wash to just go new, but a better option as it would be stronger. Also, it looks like whoever worked on in before I got it "relieved' it for latching machinery too much. It's pretty thin on both sides, but especially the right side. Anybody have thoughts on this?
