Actually you can swap barrels without any fitting.I've had several 24 in rimfire that I've switched,but you have to make sure that the barrels are of similar type extractors.There are 2 styles of extractors--we're talking about the shot gun barrel extractor. One style is the "flat" style and the other is the "round" style.The shapes we're referring to reflect the shape of the opening the extractor fits into under the shot gun barrel breech--either a round hole or a flat slot.Rimfire barrel sets in 20ga and 410 ga with flat extractors will generally drop right in.Round extraxtor barrels will NOT fit a flat extractor reciever and vice versa. Round extractor 20ga will not swap with round extracor 410ga.



Centerfire guns is a whole different story.All 24V (B,C,D) guns interchange ( 222,223,30-30,22 hornet and 357 mag/max) EXCEPT for the 24V-A in 222--the upper firing pin does not line up correctly.In 24F 12ga all the barrels interchange except the 17HMR set.Finally the 2400 combo series all interchange and can use barrels for the 330 series over/under sets as well.
