Has anyone ever owned a 24 with one of these?
I am looking for pictures of a 24 with the swing over mount. It looks like some holes need to be added the gun to attach the mount. I'm not too keen on that, but if I find a beater 24v it would be ideal to try instead of ruining a gun with nice original finish.
I hope someone has had some experience with these type of mounts and ideally a picture or two!

I searched using “Pachmeyer Scope Mounts” and got a good hit at “TalkHunting.com.” There are some very good photos of the mount you are interested in on a Remington 742 rifle. One picture clearly shows the 4 mounting screws used to secure the base. I have no idea if this system would work on a Savage 24.
Poking around a bit, I found the mount got very good reviews. I remember Pachmeyer’s marketing claimed a positive lock-up, and that the scope would return to zero after pivoting for iron sight use.
Though if this idea many times myself regarding Savage 24s. If you do this you might consider using a shotgun scope as they may handle recoil better than some riflescopes.
