Thanks, txbob. In my first picture with the Leatherman there is a blob of the blue threadlocker on the plate, but I was too impatient to see it through. I'll try it out tomorrow.

Blue threadlocker did the trick perfectly and will still release the spent brass, if you heat it up, for reuse of the sleeve. Did a write up on this project and submitted it to Backwoodsman Magazine(I've written to them a few times) and I'm waiting to hear back whether they'll use it or not. Thanks for the idea and the help guys, great trick.

Pretty slick DIYing, nice job loganboone. I've used the .22 Special in my .22 Magnums and though a little less loud, not what I was looking for. CCI Quiet / CB load would be a nice choice to try.
