I went to go partridge hunting this year and my 24V has a b roken firing pin for the rifle barrel (222). I shoot lead bullets at about 1600 fps out of this for squirrels and rabbits. The 20 ga is for partridge.
Gun Parts corp does not have one.
I also need the spring.

The best place for parts that I have found, believe it or not, has been Ebay!!! You may have to wait awhile, but sooner or later most parts come up for sale/auction. Good luck. By the way that sounds like a nice Sav. 24 combo.

I needed one also--I thought that Numrich had them but I bought mine on e-bay from the gun garage (www.gungaragegunparts.com 479-524-2038 ) I also found some springs on Ebay that fit but I think you can use the spring from a bic lighter--just stretch it out and cut off a small piece

You can also try finding a replacement firing pin and spring at "Out Back Gun Parts, Inc" located in New Albany, IN, phone number: 812-945-0480, website: www.outbackgunparts.com, or email: outbackgunpartsws@sbcglobal.net. You will need to send him a picture of the part(s) from the gun's schematic including part number, and all of the specifics about your gun. He is not the cheapest place to get parts, but usually has the right parts.

I fortunately do not know what the firing pin looks like. Does anyone have a close up picture of one. I am wondering if a replacement could be made from a drill bit shank? Anyone??

The 222 rifle firing pin for the 24V series A, B, C, and D are all the same. Numrich (Gun Parts Corp.) has a 24V-B schematic with a picture of the 222 rifle firing pin. Per Numrich they have this firing pin in stock, but no rifle firing pin spring. However, you will see that they do have the shotgun firing pin in stock. Per Jack First's Gun Parts Book 13, Volume 3, Shotgun parts and accessories the two springs are the same part number and thus should be interchangeable for the 24V series of guns. Hope this is helpful.

Well, they came yesterday. Wrong pin, the ad said Rifle, the part is for the shotgun.
Re ordering... Maybe from another place. I can't find a spring to order, but I read here a pen spring will work.
David
I will keep you posted. I want to shoot this gun!

Big K is right. Any relatively correct size spring will work.

OK, after ordering the wrong one twice I finally got TWO of the correct one. Sitting there at the kitchen table working on the gun, I hit the girlfriend up for her Bic lighter and took the spring out. Well, it was kind of small for the firing pin I was trying to install. I did o't know it at the time it was the WRONG firing pin. I cut a pen spring and it fit well. Once I got the right firing pin, I used the same spring. Gun works great, I shot a bunch of groups with no problems. Primers are dented properly. The mark from the firing pin is centered in the primer, no piercings and a good sized dent. I got it right first time. I thought the spring was a little too stiff or long, but it fires every time. Thanks for all the help. I got the part from gun parts corp. I don't have the part # now but will post later. Went hunting saturday. Walked about 5 miles in the woods I hunted when I was a kid. Saw nothing. No squirrels, no partridge. Long walk and a few rocks were shot to check point of aim. She is back in action many thanks to you folks. David Part # 11090A www.gunpartscorp.com/Products/110990A.htm
