Picked up this one on Gunsamerica today. Always wanted one. Will be looking to do some light restoration over the winter, will definitely be refinishing the stock. Gonna try to do something about the barrel band/ front sight. Just picked up a couple hundred rounds of .222.

I have the same gun, no scope, but I have had a scope on it. I ended up with williams a peep sight. I had the scope mount drilled for the peep. This gives me good shooting with both barrels, I got lucky, both barrels shoot to the sight.
Been working on light 222 loads. I have been shooting some 45 grain home cast lead for quite a few yedrs, now I am trying some 40 grain jacketed with a light charge to see what I get. With regular 55 grain bullets at a reduced load all I get are keyholes.
If you are a hunter, your going to love it.
Please report back on how it shoots.

What do you plan with the barrel band ? Is it 222/20ga ? I'll buy it if you can find what you want.

The band is a little beat up: I would like to refurbush/replace but have to see the gun (should get it next week) to determine course of action. Seems like the part may be a little hard to find. Yes .222/20G

I bet you could restore that barrel band with a dremel or even files and sand paper. A little cold blue and there you go.

Well shot the gun this weekend. The good news the .222 barrel is very accurate and the shotgun barrel shot to the same elevation and just a couple inches right. Should be easy to correct with a shim. The bad, the trigger is extremely heavy, I have DA revolvers that have less pull weight. I will be doing a little work on the sear as outlined on the site here. The .222 is really a flat shooting round, very little holdover from 25 yards to one hundred yards.

Sighted in at 25 yards should be the same as 100 yards.
Enjoy your 222
