hello all, this topic probably has been beat to death, But is there a definitive site that can track the date my 24C was made, i surfed the old forum and the FAQ page and couldn't get any results. thanks, Paul

For starters, which 24C do you have? A Series P? A Series S?

That's the page the photos on. On that page, on the right it has "image code".
If you put that in your post here the photo will show up.

As an added note… please don't quote photos, it will just slow things down. If you have to quote a post with a photo, delete the photo code if you can.

Paul, There is nothing definitive yet, which means I hope to resolve that issue with my book on the 24.
I can tell you the the 24C Series R appears in the 1978 and 1979 catalogs, so to narrow it down a bit you are looking at you gun being produced between 1977 and 1979 roughly.
If that isn't good enough information for your craving, your only alternative is to send a letter to the Savage historian Jon Callahan and wait in line for a response.

You can see it's kind of transitional between the Series P and the Series S. It looks 80% P, 20% S.

I dated my 24C Series P just by looking through the catalogs, near as damn I reckon it's around 1975. They are a good indicator if your're not fussed by a year or two.
