I got the same gun guide platform. What sights are you using on it. I would prefer a peep sight and a higher front sight

Will this work on a 24V .222 over 20GA?

Will this work on a 24V .222 over 20GA? For the 24V (and I think the 24F, too), you want a Weaver #74 scope base. You take out the 2 grub screws in the top of the barrel and screw the base on, then mount your weaver-style rings to that. Phew, she needs a dusting....

I have one I just picked up with no grooves in it. How hard would it be to put a mount on it???

This thing does as advertised. Perfect mount with the "Pic" rail which allowed
my to put a decent "Red Dot" on the 22/20 (24D).
Zeroed the red dot to achieve dime size groups with 22.
Wing shots are sure to follow....the advantage to the older 24's is the fact that the barrels are WELDED together.

Why is that an advantage? I have a .22 mag/20 that is welded all the way so I cannot get barrels regulated. I also have a .223/20 that is only welded at the muzzle end I can get the barrels shooting pretty close by driving a wedge between them. Someday I may cut and grind that weld out and make a clamp that can be adjusted to regulate barrels perfectly.

Well, here is the advise from an old machinist/gunsmith who told me that because the barrels run together, the older models were less problematic.
"NEVER SELL THAT GUN unless you really needed the money"
"Zero to your rifle barrel...and check the pattern on your shotgun barrel .. note that most shotguns will/may throw different patterns with various shot sizes and brands. Expecting an O/U to shoot 22 bullets and shotgun slugs into the same POI is like hunting for unicorns. Check any double barrel configuration/brand. A VERY common complaint...UNLESS you will pay 10x the money". ------------ My personal experience....zeroing to the 22LR and checking pattern with 4/5's (20ga) worked fine for the initial purpose that I bought the 24D in '65. Squirrels and grouse hunting in upstate NY. Rabbits were a simple switch for the selector...either in the sitting mode, or running. I'll admit to using both barrels....and "Bugs" still ran away.
Chit happens...that's why it's called "game hunting".
Coming out to Iowa...(long story) I attempted to switch the zero to focus on using slugs for deer...see Iowa law. It would fire decent groups for single shot 20ga (and Yes...there is a BIG difference shooting the Remington "Sluggers" vs Brenneke...again the issue of cost.)
When I checked the 22LR results....Ugh. The group was well off the mark....but tight.
So..a switch back was in order.
