Good morning.....nice to find a forum like this. I just purchased a 24S-A 22LR/20g yesterday and I wanted to dissemble it for a thorough CLP. My question is....what's the trick to getting the forestock off after removing the screw? (I've been hunting for a long time but am not a gun expert by any stretch).
Also, how does one estimate the age of the gun without serial nos.?
Thanks. Any bunny hunters on here?

First, put the screw back in, it holds the bottom metal to the forend funiture and 'snaps' it in place. Now grab the forend wood at the barrel end with one hand, hold the barrel with your other hand and give the forend a little pull, it will snap right apart for you.
