A friend called to say he had bought a Stevens .410 over .410. He didn't have the gun at his side to check the model, but he said it had "double skinny hammers," which instantly suggested a Model 240. But he also said it had wood stock and forearm and insisted it was original. I may not have seen everything, of course, but I've looked at a lot of Stevens .410s in all configurations and have never seen any with "double skinny hammers" except the 240, which I'm just about positive came only with Tenite, never with wood. It would be easy, of course, for someone to have swapped on the readily available wood furniture, which is a common occurrence on the Stevens Model .22/.410s that came with Tenite. Can anyone confirm or deny that the 240 only came with Tenite? Thanks.
