For me the Atlas ( copy of 24 savage) is an ideal gun. 20 ga shot, 20 ga slug and 22 mag.... AND 6mm Flobert! I shoot this with no problems and this ammo is approx 250 m per second and 33 j in power. Very quiet and great for varmint. At 25 yr it shoots 1 inch low but extremely good groups ( 3 shot under 0.5 inch) What I really like on this gun that the barrels are regulated almost perfect ( normally in my experience only found on expensive guns).

Hm! That is the same thing as what we call a "CB Cap" here in the states, right? Aren't those for a .22LR (or Short) chamber? Smaller in diameter than the .22WMR chamber, I mean?

I think you are right. Mine are made by RWS and also have some from CZ. Normally they are for Flobert guns and you can also use them in 22 lr. The chamber is to big in the 22 mag. So if you shoot them in the mag the case swells a bit.....they are round ball and strangely the shoot very well.... I am not really recommend shooting ammo not designed for the gun......but for me, this combination works....

Hello,
Most respectfully, shooting any cartridge which is shorter than the designed chamber should be done very, very sparingly to prevent damage to the rifle's chamber which in turn will cause the original sized cartridge brass to begin sticking (won't eject properly). I have a few 22 mag containing #12 shot that is designed to kill pests. What will you be dispatching with the "Floberts." (CB Cap)? Please excuse my curiosity.

yes, you are right. I use them on rats... The problem where I live we are restricted on guns, how many you can own and so on... so sometimes have to do things which are not the best.... for example even an airrifle I need to register with the police... so I figured out the flobert works when needed occasionally...

Thank you for your reply. Yes, I worked with colleagues in the EU and know the gun laws are very, very limiting and as strict as these laws are they did nothing to prevent the horrible attack in Paris. As I write we have a shooting incident playing out in California. Our president says he has no details, but called for more gun laws.
Rats. Yes, I understand. Was the Flobert (CB cap) effective on this pest? We can buy a 22 Long Rifle loaded with #12 shot ("rat shot"). I don't know if you have such 22s available to you.
So thanks for your reply and my very best wishes.

I was once a guest of the Lapua plant in Finland. Very fine 22s and many calibers of of center fire cartridges. Fins are great people. The plant had a sauna, bar and air gun range in the basement of the administration building. Drank Finlandia vodka, ate smoked salmon, hit the sauna and shower a few times and shot on the air gun range. All made for a very good time.
Banned rat shot 22 ammunition. It makes no sense, but each country has it's own ways. The majority of people must have elected those who made the law.
Wishing you and your family well and the very best of new year.
