Hi guys,
got a 24 not long ago, its basically in parts, the previous owner had it re-blued and had ordered what he thought was all the missing parts from Numrich.
here is what I got and some questions, any help would be greatly appreciated, I did read through the FAQ's but I'm still lost
its a model 24, no letter designation, only says 24 on the side , joined brazed barrels all the way , barrels are 24 inches long, has the barrel selector on the right side....22 over .410
questions
1.) any pics of how this barrel selector button is assembled , I have the detent and spring that goes in the channel on the right side of the receiver, button screw , ( spring ? ), a pin that is not flat on one end, has a tit ?? and the selector plate that the screw threads into when the button is moved would indicate which barrel is to fie , can't figure out how this is assembled
2.) I know the .22 LR firing pin in different than the shotgun firing pin, there was only 1 firing pin spring, I believe it was on the shotgun barrel, does the .22lr firing pin have a spring ?? I tried to install the .22 FP WITHOUT a spring and protruded into the receiver ?? used the spring and it would not allow it to protrude into the receiver at all . so do both firing pins have a spring or only 1, and which barrel does it go on ?
thanks

Have you looked at an exploded view? That may help you with the barrel selector issue.
I haven't taken mine apart, but everyone on this site says the shotgun pin has no spring.

Early Model 24's with brazed barrels that are .22/.410 caliber only have a spring on the rifle firing pin. This is to ensure that the top rifle firing pin is retracted to allow the gun to close and lock up easily, and not get bound up by the extended upper firing pin. The lower shotgun firing pin will clear the barrels as they close and be pushed inward by the closing barrels, thus a firing pin spring is not required. On later Model 24's both firing pins have springs.
