Hello to the group. First time posting here because I want to learn more on a 24 I’ve owned from the mid to late 70’s. Over the past few weeks I have searched the web and haven’t seen anything like this combination. It’s a .22LR / 20 ga one pc barrel, wood stock, side lever. Here’s the kicker, it has a gold inlay on each side of the fore-end of a expanded square and a round cap on the bottom of the stock. It has a oval with a 59 and what looks like a L on the barrel locking lug. Thanks Grizz

I have three model 24s this one looks like my 24 s-e with the exception of the rear sight on one it is fixed the other is missing, but the gold bits on yours may have been added by a previous owner.

Looks like a Marlin rear sight on there. It no doubt has the model number stamped on the receiver. 24S-series..? The inlays are someones artistic flair.

I have the same model gun. And I bought it new around the same time. I dont have the gold on it. I had to add a shim under the rear site for adjustment on the 22 side. Very accurate to hit varmits at 40 yards on the 410 side. Check my post asking about if its safe to fire slugs. I always used #6 shot. That was the best for me. Dont ever sell yours. You wont find many like it today. Savage had moved the break release to the top of the gun in later years. Why? I dont know. Makes it awkward to break away.
