You have a Stevens 22-410 made in 1949 by Savage. Most of the 22-410 had Tenite stocks. One source I've found says that the 24 was introduced in 1950...http://www.fourten.org.uk/mwsavage24.html ...so your gun might have been one of the last produced and got wooden furniture, or the receiver was a left over and the gun was actually produced later. It's also possible someone along the line replaced the stocks. Are there any stampings on the barrel lug in an oval? This thread has good info regarding model info... savage24forum.boards.net/thread/192/different-stevens-savage-combo-guns

under the front stock there is a number 5 that's all thanks I also read somewhere that the stevens 22-410 was made from 1938-9 until 1949-50 before the war 1938 some had wood walnut stocks and during the war tenite was used until end of the war is that right thanks from nova scotia
