Want to do a deep cleaning on the mainspring and other internalsI on an older 24, 22/410, The stock screw is very stubborn, I heard using penetrating oils around wood is not a good idea, Any suggestions? Thanks, Paul

Have you tried Ballistol? Pour a small amount directly down into the screw and let it sit for a while. At least, you won't be damaging any wood.

Great advise Vancmile, I watch Hickock 45 so I have Ballistol, I did get it apart with the big assed screwdriver, and the help of a wrench of the B.A. screwdriver shaft, That's the good news, Bad news is the spring and lever that operates the shotgun eject or lift is bound up and binding, And lever is galled up on the pivot point, I thought a good internal cleaning would get it to open and close easier, But not so, Gonna need advise on the fix, Will take some pic's and post them.
