Looking for some expertise on a 24V series D forearm. I searched the board a couple of ways and did not find my problem. I have one receiver and two barrel sets, a .223/20 and a .357/20. On the .357 the forearm snaps on with authority and feels secure. On the .223 it is loose and feels like it is going to eject itself from the rifle any minute. If I swap them back and forth the problem follows the barrel. There is no visible wear on either barrel on the hook where the spring locks into. Checked the screws on the forend and they are tight and the spring pins are in place. Thanks in advance for any help.

Try measuring from the front of the hook to rear of the barrels and see if the measurements are the same.

From the notch in the hook on the barrel to the hinge pin the 223 barrel is .005" longer. Does not seam like .005" would matter, but apparently it does. How to modify the 223 barrel hook to eliminate that .005 difference?

In fact you can just cut to fit and put it in the grove and put the handguard on just to try it. The handguard will hold it in place.
