Just scored the RE-24 peep arriving soon. Have read about needing to raise the front sight to use these and mine does not come with the riser that was normally included with the sight. My 24C has the dual barrel band that the riser would not work with anyway. It does seem to be a little bit higher than the older removable sights. Does anyone here have experience with this set-up? I might need to pass this sight on to someone that can use it if it will not sight in.
Thanks

Update with the good news. Sight arrived yesterday, mounted up perfect on my 24C and since it was made for the 24 it would of course adjust all the way down to the O on the elevation scale. Using Aquila S.V. at 50 yards it was shooting 2" low. Had to raise it up a little and it put up a nice tight 3/4" group in 4 of 5 shots. The 5th opened up the group to 1 3/8". Tried the faster velocity Aquila and the group was 2X larger not unexpected. Looking forward to testing a variety of ammo to see if it likes something specific. The peep arrangement is way beyond the old little half moon on the factory rear blade. I have had this 24C for well over 40 years taking most of the small game compared to all the other stuff I own. It is such a nice set-up it almost deserves a high grade oil finished stock! Nah, too many memories of it just working as is.

As things move kinda slow around here I thought after four years I was due for another post:.........
I put the Williams peep sight on my 24C (Series P circa 1975), front sight was fine like yours, plenty accurate as many rodents can testify.
