Hi guys,
I was looking at the Gun-Guides site where there’s a picture of a Savage 24 with a scope mounted using their Perfect Adaptors. If I was better at this, I’d have added the picture or a link to it; sorry.
It’s not a bad looking set up; does anybody know what sort of scope that is?
I’m guessing that it would have to have an eye relief of over 7 inches to work where it’s sitting.
What do you think?
Regards,

gun-guides.com/Perfect-Adapter%E2%84%A2-Optic-Mounts-for-Savage-O-U-24-Shotguns-by-Gun-Guides%C2%AE-LIMITED-QUANTITIES-p83298188. I have a pair of these. You didn't say which model of Savage 24 you have. I tried these on my S-D and they didn't hold if I fired the shotgun (20 gauge). My rimfire groove was too shallow on one side. Even after I had a local gunsmith "fix" it, it ejected both a red dot and a reflex sight. I din't even bother with a regular scope. This probable isn't a problem with later models, but you would have to try it on yours (at $40). The perfect adapters flex. You mount them on your rifle and tighten them down, and then mount your scope rings, which pinch the top. This may undo the pinch on your rimfire grooves. I don't see what you mean about the eye relief in the picture. Looks fine to me. BTW, I still have the perfect-adapters and I am willing to let them go for half price + shipping. Message me if you are interested.

Thanks for your reply, mnbobster. I’ve already committed to buying a set so I can’t take up your generous offer.
The firearm is a Carreras & Astellara clone of the Savage 24, in 22WMR over 20ga. These are not as rare over here in Australia as they seem to be in the States.
I’m planning to use QD rings to be able to drop the scope off when shotgunning.
My real interest was in the scope depicted - it seems to be a good fit for the limited mounting space available. The old scope I’ve got available to try hangs back over nearly to the point of the butt comb to bring the eyepiece within useable distance. Will probably need a hammer spur extension.
So if you can tell what model of scope that is, I’d really like to know.

Interesting. Up until now I had not heard of Carreras & Astellara. I see the "Atlas" model when I search for them. I notice that they were sold in Canada, the UK, and I guess Australia and Europe. Looks like the Savage 24 all right. Can't say what the regular scope brand or model is. The identifying printing isn't visible. The other (silver) scope is a Red Dot. They don't magnify (unless they are really expensive), so they don't hang over the hammer.

Boy, they sure look like a dead ringer for a Mdl 24; wonder how many parts are interchangeable? A short Google search doesn't tell me when and where they were made (or I can't read many of the foreign language articles). Anyone know?

My spelling was a bit off - it should be Carrero & Astelarra. There a a few posts on here about them, one has a brochure on their range.
From what I’ve read, they were based in Guernica in Spain and went out of business in the early 1980s. They bought a licence from Savage to make the model 24 copy, you can probably date that to the version the Atlas most closely resembles.
I’d guess parts interchangeability would be pretty good, the threads are US, not metric.
