As an 07 FFL I can legally cut down and register/build AOW Combo guns. I decided to try this to bring life back to a poor old girl with a bulged 410 barrel. Numrich used to have these grips for the 940 (I think). I'd like to find a true grip for the 24/94 series. Attachments:

I've never seen a model 24 cut that short in the past. A very different looking AOW. Hope you find the grip you're looking for. Thanks for showing it.

I remember that grip as well, but its been years since I've seen one in person, that at a gun show. I also think there was a specific 24 model which came with both the shoulder and pistol grip stock. The term 'Camper' comes to mind for some reason.
Way back when, there were a couple of firearms which were sold to be used from confined spaces like an automobile. I think one of them was the Ithaca Auto-Burglar, a pistol gripped shortened double barrel for 'repelling boarders'. But that was a long time ago, before the 1934 legislation which made these firearms 'permission required'
Good luck on finding that stock.

That pistol grip was originally made for the Camper/Survivor model of the 24. It was a front trigger guard release, and had an electroless nickel finish, and was chambered in 357 MAX if i remember correctly. Had one years ago, but had to make the short 1/2x26tpi screw for the pistol grip.
Tom if you are serious about making them, look into the Marbles Game Getter also, which is what the Stevens 24 was patterned after. I've even got a folding stock like CAS has on his camper in some of the articles listed on the main page. Think it was made for the Kimel Kamper version of the Savage 94 many years ago.

That's the model I was thinking of - Survivor. I'm a bit surprised that Choate, USA manufacturer of many folding shoulder stock designs, never had a model for the Savage 24. It seems to me to be a marriage from Heaven.

Choate, along with other makers, are in the business of making money, and unfortunately that means selling hundreds of thousands of an item after all the startup costs. For a Savage 24 there is just not much of a market. And when you think about the early scalloped receivers then the later straight backed receivers, it further reduces the ability to make enough money after all the design and production costs. This is unfortunate, but sometimes the ability to make is what will rule on whether something is made or not. The Choate stocks for the T/C Contenders and H&R line of shotguns and Handi Rifles were available for a while, but not sure they are still making them now since both of those guns are discontinued. I've shot both in various calibers, from 22lr all the way up to 45-70 along with the H&R shotguns, and found they were not as comfortable as a standard stock. i believe this is why they are not out there as much as you would think. On top of this is the tang design of the Savage-being a long rear tang action it is just harder to fit another style of stock to it unlike the H&R and T/C designs.
Now if we could talk TPS Arms who is making the new M6 design to make a pistol version like Springfield Armory had started to announce many years ago before they shelved the whole thing that might be a fun thing to play with. Especially if they could design a stock along the lines of the original game getter ideas. Doing about a 12-14" LR/410 with a folding stock might be able to sell quite well.

I made some photoshop mockups for the original forum 15-20 years ago now and loved the way they looked. Alas they're a no-go in my state.
