I have a Savage 24F it’s a .22 hornet over 12 gauge. Can’t figure out how to date the gun and curious what the value is. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

There's a 223/12 on Gunbroker at the moment for $1100-1200 I would say that's "highly optimistic".
A few older models listed in the mid $800's which I'll admit shocked me. Of course asking, and selling are two different things. You need to look at closed auctions that actually sold to get a real idea, not pie in the sky wishful thinking prices.

Ok thanks! I gave about $600 for it so was just kinda curious if I gave to much for it but sounds like I didn’t. Would you know how I could date it? I’ve tried looking it up but couldn’t find anything

When they were still in production they sold for around $650, and that was quite some time ago.

In Fl. that's a good price for anything in Hornet.

I just bought the exact same 24F model and chambering from a neighbor that was bought new and never fired for $600. There was a used 24f predator chambered in 22 hornet and 12 gauge that sold on gun broker at the end of November 2022’ (a month ago basically) for $1199 plus $45 to ship. So imo you got a great deal. The early models are drilled and tapped like mine. The later versions were set up for a side saddle scope mount. They have another 24F for sale in 22 LR and 20 gauge. Didn’t interest me. If it would have been an older model 20 gauge with a 22 WMR on top I would have been a player.

There’s another 24F 22 hornet/12 gauge in camouflage on GunBroker currently with a buy it now for $865. I don’t really see them for sale often and that one looks like a great price of someone is in the market. Also another one in 30-30 with a bid of 1200 bucks currently.

Was at a gunshow this weekend - even less of these utility firearms seen. Only one, it a nice .22 Magnum / 20 Gauge with silver engraved receiver. $650. This was in south Texas and the price was about the same as seen before.

Looked at a 22 over 410 with side of receiver barrel selector yesterday. It was priced at 900. Clean gun just too high for me to be interested.
