These are what they look like. No bottom metal that goes across the mounting base to cover up the open sights. They just pinch along the scope base when tightened.

The 30mm models must be true unicorns. I’ve been looking for these since I bought the gun the week before Christmas with zero luck. I like both styles of the old school ones above. I have two sets of Remington 7600 so I took off and a set of marlin 336s I took off. I replaced them with DNZ one piece scope mounts and lower power starting optics (2/2.5x). The reason I want to see through rings is my guess my barrels won’t be regulated to the same point of aim. I just bought the gun and I need to go out and shoot it. I was told it was never shot…BUT… there is some solder or something between the barrel about half way down. I would assume somebody regulated it or tried to. Hopefully the barrels hit the same point aim but I highly doubt it. So I figured with see-through rings I can sight my 22 hornet with an optic and use the factory adjustable open sights for my 12 gauge barrel.
I did run into some rings the other day they were 30 mm and didn’t have have a solid “shelf” going across the bottom. I figured with a solid shelf going across the bottom like most scope rings have will cover up my open sights? I figured after adding a weaver 74 base to the welded rib has already raised it up to the point of I add a see through style ring with a solid base it will cover up my open sights? Anyone have a 24F along with a weaver 74 base and use see through rings that don’t block the open sights? I’m using a 30mm tube Bushnell 1-4 optic.
I found these googling the other day. They don’t have a bottom piece of metal going across the bottom ( shelf as I called it) to cover up the open sights. Never heard of these rings and they seem a little on the expensive side to me by the time I pay shipping will be 50 bucks. I’d rather get the big ,wide, open window, sight picture… old school ones above if somebody’s got a pair laying around I could they would part with that I could buy or trade for?
