Signed up ok. Hate that capture thing, four attempts before I got it right. I'd hate to tell you how many times it took me. That was the audio version… before I realized there was a text version as well.

Hello all - new to this forum, but not to 24s. I've visited the "old" site on a couple of occasions looking for info, but never signed on.
Like probably some of you, my first firearm was a brand new 24 I got as a birthday present from my father. For me, that was back in the early '50s. I still have it. (I got laughed out of an NRA Junior Marksmanship program by trying to use it to qualify with. Had to get Dad to buy me a used Win. 69A Target to be "allowed" back in. 25 bucks was a lot of money for us at the time. Still have that one, too.)
I've added a few more 24s to the collection over the years, including a couple of VS models in the .357 Rem Maximum chambering, complete w/ pistol grips (but no boxes or paperwork). Both had chips broken off the stock along the tang (a common problem with the Max?), so am looking for replacement stocks, if anybody knows where to find them. Numrich doesn't seem to have any.
Anyway, glad to have found this site. Looking forward to learning as much as I can about the 24s.

Well after not even two days here we have 37 registered members. That's about 30+ more than I would have thought. ;D

Hello all! Good move on the forum. I have read many threads and occasionally chime as "Anthony" in when I think I can help. New screen name - combo24!!
My prediction: 1K registered members my 06/13!
Glad to see the "regulars"!

G'day all, took me two day's to figure out the register protocol but finally got here. I've been around for five or six years variously as Down Under and Loc 1849. The 24 is still a popular gun in Australia and some models in near new condition crop up from time to time

I'm on board as well, and I love the new format. I feel that it is easier to access and much more "searchable" when looking for info.
