Im new to the model 24 family and had a question about barrels. Seeing as you cant really find them has anyone ever tried to manufacture their own? Using my 24S bbl assy as a reference it looks like a model 94 barrel with a slight groove milled into the chamber swell to accept the 22 barrel. The question is, how did they join the 2 bbls together. No bbl bands or screws are visible. Anyone have any info on the manufacturing process?

The barrels are soldered together. I don't know the makeup of the solder -- silver solder, maybe?

When I blew my 1st 12/30-30 apart the rifle barrel separated from the shot gun (I still have the barrels and display them at the gun show--you should see some peoples reactions!!!) you can see the "flat spots" near the breech where the solder was applied--looks like more of a braze material
