Ok question for you all, I own a 24v series d in 222/20 I'm trying to find out if I can use barrel sets from other 24's. Like for instance could I use a 30/30/ 12ga by just switching the barrels and for arm grip? Or the 357 rifle set?

Boy Have I been thru this before--LOL Yes 88 all series "D" 24 V barrels can switch out --usually just drop in---which means the 222,22 hornet,223,30-30 and 357 barrels can be used with the same reciever/stock and forearm

Ill add to that, that all te 24V series B, C, And D's, are xxxcal/ 20 gauge and their barrels are all compatable. I'm Not aware of any that are over 12gauge. The 24F series and some "transition" models between the V and F are over 12 gauges but those have a differnt barrel fit and forearm. You have to be somewhat diligent to pick up Barrel sets of these but they ARE out there. Good luck and have fun with your 24 searches and projects. Also, at the risk of pooing on someone's parade or favorite gun, I find the F series guns with the 12 gauge barrels Impractically heavy for carrying in the field. Great tree stand or ground blind gun, but not comfortable at all for stalking deer, running ridge tops after turkey, or whatever woods bumming someone might like to do. As a 150$ Alternative.... I had my 3030/20 B series threaded for chokes and it made a wonderful difference in my pattern with tighter extended chokes. Slugs in improved cylinder and modified still shot to the exact same place as they did before I had the barrel work done.

Yeah Mike I agree that the F's are clunkier than the V's---thats why I have the 2400 series--its a 12 ga but lighter--at least to me--- than my F's

Read them posts above....but B, C and D will all interchange---I have swapped 222,223,30-30,357Mag and Maxbarrels on three differnt receivers. They all worked. I have read in this forum that Series A barrels will only work with other series A barrel/receivers. However, I sold my 30-30/20 series B barrel set to a guy in newyork some months ago and he claimed it wouldn't fit his series B 222/20. Said the firing pin hit the side of the primer. He sent it back a few weeks later for a refund which I gave him. If he doesnt answer directly on this post, you should PM the man called big Kelly from posts above and ask him for specif info on issues with the 222/20 interchanging. I think I recall him having some knowledge about difficulties with the 222 swapping with other barrels. "I THINK". Maybe I'm recalling issues with the A series. Anyway good luck.
