I got a line on a 24 C in fair/Good condition it also has the original gun case in good condition also. Can anyone give me the current market value? He's asking $500.00 for the gun and case and I'm thinking it's a little high. Your thoughts?

Without a picture it's kinda hard to judge, as "fair/Good" condition really leaves a lot of wiggle room. However, I'd say the price is about right, Campers are pretty scarce and command a premium over regular 24's in my opinion, especially if they have the original case in good condition. Of course fair versus pristine condition does make a difference.
To give you an example of 2, I have a 24C Series S camper pictured below, in rather pristine condition with original case:
I bought that gun back longer than 12 years ago, prolly more like 15, and paid $300. If someone offered me $500 for it today, I'd laugh at them.
Daughter also has a 24C Series S Camper, not quite as pristine as mine, but pretty damn close, no case however. I would doubt very much she would part with hers for $500 either.
Bottom line though is something is worth what someone is willing to pay for it depending on how bad someone wants it. Would I pay $500 for it? Probably not because of what I already have, but if I didn't have one and wanted one, I probably would.
A picture would be of great help , especially of the case. If it's the tan vinyl case of the older campers and it's not cracked, that is a big plus towards the value, as most got brittle and cracked with age.
Good luck in whatever you decide.

Winkman is right on with his $500-plus estimates. I watch the Campers pretty closely because I love them and have several. I rarely even see them at smaller gun shows in the Upper Midwest, and the ones I run across twice a year at the big Tulsa show are rarely priced less than $500, and are often in the $600 to $800 asking-price range; sometimes even higher but go unsold. At that 4,200-table show, I usually don't see more than two or three Campers in the entire show --often half a dozen or more regular Model 24s for every Camper I see. Decent original cases sell on e Bay for $80 to $100, although they don't show up very often. Some Campers had much nicer wood than others, which affects value. Of course, as with all guns, value always depends on condition and eagerness of buyer/seller. Bottom line: $500 may not be a bargain, but it may not be a money-loser if you keep it for a while and want to resell.

So I picked it up for $425.00 I'm somewhat photographically challenged so excuse the lack of detail in the photo. One other question, the case appears to in fairly good shape, but the plastic is stiff/hard.... its lost its suppleness, so is there anything I can use to restore/rejuvenate the plastic? I'm thinking on the line of "Armorall". Your thoughts? CZVZ

I remember that there are links on savage24.com, or maybe on this forum, to companies who make replacements if you can't get this original back in shape to use it without ruining it.

I think you did real good, I don't see how you'd ever lose money on it at that price even after holding on to it for only a couple of years.
I believe that case is some type of vinyl, and they are known to harden up and then crack with time. You might try talking to a place that does vinyl reupholstery /repairs and ask them what they recommend to condition vinyl and make it more supple.

I would say you got a great deal. Wish I could find them up here in Canada for that price. As for your case what about some kind of boot/shoe conditioner? Not sure it would work but just a thought.
