Scanning through the channels, I saw that 'The Last Alaskans' was on. Season 4, Episode 5 (No Regrets) celebrated the life and death of Bob Harte, one of the regular cast. And about 32 minutes into the episode, the son of the deceased was admiring one of his Father's treasured possessions, a Savage 24, appearing to me to be either a .222 or .223 Remington over 20 shotgun. The son described how the gun was used and later was taken on a hunt where he killed a rabbit for his supper. Pretty cool ! Here is what I hope is a link to the episode - enjoy. I like the series, as the drone footage and photography (especially the slow motion) really capture the beauty of the Alaskan Bush. go.discovery.com/tv-shows/the-last-alaskans/full-episodes/no-regretsIf this is old news, my apologies. If you go to about 30.00 minute mark, the Savage 24 cache is discovered and begun. If you want to 'cut to the chase'.

It was nice, thanks for the show. It was the Savage 24 still getting game.

You are welcome. Not many times does this model gain any public television notice whatsoever. This firearm was definitely shown in its element.

Glad to see photos like that. The 24 has slid from utility foraging gun to collector. For the people who appreciate having both a rifle and shotgun simultaneously, it will never go out to style.
That was a fine gift for the youngster - good choice ragnar.

Great job at starting him out with a combo gun. Single shot eliminates the spray and pray mentality.

Marine basic marksmanship training and a boot in his a$$ WHEN HE MISSES will stop any tendency towards spray and pray. Shooting is a serious business around here. You either get serious or get out and there is no third option. Don't care if you like it. Those are the rules.
