First off, I'm new to the forum, and have read a lot of great information here. That being said, I haven't found instructions or any discussion that has helped me with my issue. I've disassembled the firearm completely, as I've learned you have to, in order to replace the selector. I then ordered the Selector Button Kit www.gunpartscorp.com/products/111620 from Numrichs. The issue I have is that the only piece of the selector that was with the firearm, was the broken selector itself. Could anyone provide an overview of the process required to replace the selector switch components? Specifically, where and how to install the selector button spring and plunger? I've found numerous diagrams of the firearm, but none of them have been useful in understanding where those parts are located and how they should be installed. Thank you in advance for any information and I look forward to learning more from this group. Shane

Sorry no one's been any help. Myself, I've never been inside a side selector gun.

bhosavag, Many years ago, I posted a disassembly/reassembly write-up of the Savage/Stevens 22 LR/410 ga. I have attached it to this post for your use, note it is a Microsoft Word file. It is specifically for the side selector model but can be used for almost any Savage 24. If you use it in conjunction with the correct 24 model diagram it should help you. If you have any questions, please feel free to message me. Best of luck, neilrr

Thank you for the information! I found the spring and detent that hold the side selector switch were rusted and stuck in the receiver. After some persuasion, I was able to get them removed. Now I should be able to reassemble everything! I will post a picture when I complete the reassembly.
