I just curious to how high savage 24s will go up to. I am advance collector and always looking finish it up. Yes I am the guy who is payed thousands for 24vs and is paying up for rares ones but I do lose to other bidders always the back up bidder though . This is isn't to drive up the price it is overwhelming that savage 24s most models are now a around a grand mark and to find out the odd balls are almost now almost none existent to find like the 24cs i cant seem to ever find i want to add to collection and many more. Anyone knows thoughts on it? Well think continue to go up or will they eventually level out?

This would be a good time for Kelly to step in and introduce Sam to his inventory..😊

Alas Kelly's inventory has been depleted---the 24v 's are all gone, only the F's and a Valmet 312 remain---Buyers like Sam were paying so much I had to sell

I have the 24vs and 24v maximum already and yes I did pay up. Of course some of the low end ones. I thought if I was to start collecting go for rarest ones first and work my way down.

When the herd number is high, it is very generous of you to give others the opportunity to take them out and appreciate them too. Combination firearms are great.

This forum has never held too many true collectors for very long. After seeing "When was my 24 made?" asked for the 467th time it kind of gets old. lol
There have been a few over the close to 20 something years this forum has existed in one form or another, but there never seemed to be too many at the same time. Even then, most would just stop by now and then. This has always been more an "enthusiast" forum, but even most of them got less enthusiastic. lol I can't remember the last time I took my original 24 out of the safe, let alone into the field. And my 24c, heck I don't even know where it is.

It is funny, one of my 24Cs is the most taken out (but rarely shot) because it is my deer season back-up rifle. The 20 gauge barrel has a MCA Sports 18" 30-30 insert barrel. So its a camp gun that can be used for deer / hog rifle too.

I tried to attach one to the above, but the photo size was too big. I'm pretty sure the photo is here somewhere on the forum, I've had it for quite a while (> 30 years). Here is an old thread from another firearm forum (RimfireCentral) with a picture of it. Post #1. Darn Photobucket !! Another 24 model is pictured further down in case you are curious, the much younger 24F Predator in 30-30 / 12 gauge. And nope - none of them are for sale. Moderators - please delete if rules are broken, and my apologies for linking to it. I'm sure this same photo is here somewhere in past threads. www.rimfirecentral.com/threads/savage-24s-out-there.533585/I hope this helps.

Speaking of serious collectors, I don’t swing through here too often, but I consider my self an average to pretty good savage 24 entheuisist. I’m thinking of opening the 7 gun safes to have a spring reunion for pictures and a cleaning of sorts. I’ve kinda lost count, but I think I’m fairly close to 80 or more. Several tennite USAF, 24VS and 24CS. Both valmet 2400, (308 and .222). Bunch of early NSN with circled date stamp. I am still lacking a few. Plenty of the deluxe and F versions. Campers new in box with carry case. Finland and Italian versions, 24F(12 - 20) all calibers and 12T. Plus all the NIB (I think close to 10-12). I’m thinking Memorial Day would be weekend to parade them a little bit. 17HMR/12 and 20. Big collection of the pistol grip gold and silver medallion series. 357mag and max. Just got in a NIN S24 series S. 22mag/20 gauge. The stock and for-end were a brown compost type of material. The metal was immaculate. 1st time one seen this type of furniture. Well good hunting for the elusive 24 to all AkFlan out

I am not familiar with a lot of the Savage 24 pieces from over a long production run. That would be very generous of you to share the pictures of them with us. )
