Hello All,
I recently acquired a Savage 24B-DL 22lr/20ga with the satin chrome receiver. I’m not sure it’s satin chrome or something else, but that’s what it looks like. Anyways, any tips or suggestions on how best to clean it during normal gun cleaning/care. Should I just wipe it down with gun oil like the barrels? Also, any tips/tricks with cleaning older barrels. I think this 24 is a 1962.
Thanks,

"Electroless nickel" was a limited factory option for a while, thought I don't recall when anymore. I don't THINK that early, but what to I know?
Or you could have one someone did afterwards obviously. I would treat it just like anything else, oil it like it was blued. Might not be as needed, but can't hurt.

Ballistol is your friend. Won't gum up, damage wood, weep away.
