Lately I have see savage 24s being paid up at high prices with replacement stocks and other issues. Like this one on gun broker. Bids already at high prices. Check it out. www.gunbroker.com/item/1036108336

That is a difficult combo to find and appears to be in good condition.

But the stock is not correct for this gun it is a total replacement. They never made a deluxe stock for 24vs. Also you can see it has a black not silver plastic opening hinge. It is not disclosed anywhere on the listing.

I have to agree with 24combo, actually both of you. I don't recall that .357 Max chambered firearm ever being supplied with a deluxe stock. The deluxe stocks were sold further back in 24 timeline. I recall two options, one with both a standard butt and a rear grip only and the pistol grip stock. I don't think these stocks had a checkering pattern, but I am going by only my meager memory. So yes, likely new furniture shown here.
But it is manufactured with Savage parts. Intact and (apparently) able to function and fire with no issues. So buyer beware and be thankful.
I can see where a Savage 24 collector would be upset.
