Went turkey hunting last weekend using my 24F 12/17 remington.I went out the day before the season opened to pattern the 12 gauge which turned out to be a smart thing. Now the stupid thing--when I shot the 12 ga barrel the turkey choke flew about 20 feet---blew it right out of the barrel so I'm sure it was the wrong choke thread

Well that sure would be disconcerting and hard to tag a bird that way.

I haven't seen any turkeys in a long time. I did see a roadkill deer on I-75 near Venice.

Ok I saw a roadkill turkey on I-75 between mile marker 187 and 186 (near Venice). bigkelly you should hunt the Myakka forest there. I've seen deer there before, and from what I observed on the side of the road turks live there too!

yes I've driven I-75 early in the morning and saw lots of deer and hogs alongside the road south of the river road overpass as well
