What was the finish on the Savage 24F models? Was it just a blue put over a rough frame? Or was it something else besides bluing? Have a 24F that the finish has been worn off a bit and want to put it back to normal.

To me, it appears to be a thin *parkerized* finish, at least mine is. I tried to add a photo of it, but it is too large to attach - sorry.
