I recently bought a 24V in .357/20 ga. A friend of mine in Texas has the same gun which he cut to 18.5 inches, reamed to .357 Maximum and threaded for choke tubes. He asked if I wanted to do the same. I told him yes, and it's down there being done. My wife and I have five shorty Handi Rifles...16.5 to 18 inches, including two Maxis. We love them. I think the 24 is going to make the perfect farm/truck gun.
I'm 71 and can no longer use open sights. The 24 came with a 4x32 on high see through rings which I didn't care for at first. Then I found I could easily sight the shotgun through the rings. Therefore, the rear sight is going and a shotgun bead front is being installed. We'll see how it all works when it comes back in a couple of weeks.

I know it's been almost a year since you posted, but thought you might be able to give us a field report on the modified gun's performance. Thanks.
