I picked up a really great shape Stevens 311A from the gun show for $300. It has 30" barrels, modified and full choke, in 12 gauge 2 3/4". Was told it was from the 40's, no serial number, inside the receiver where the barrels sit has a circled "A" and a circled "H". What was the true manufacture date? Also, is any company still making spreader loads that widen the shot pattern? Would like to use if for rabbits but I am sure I need a wider spread of shot. Also, I am thinking against steel shot from this gem. Thoughts, ideas? Thanks!

It looks like you made a good find. I'm sure it was a joy on its first outing.

Those modified and full chokes up close sure shred targets! Going to be killer for longer range. Love the vintage guns!

Anyone sling up a double barrel 12 gauge? Looking online and all I see is drill and tap...
