Thanks for having me!
I just picked up a Savage 24v series D, in .222 / 20ga.
Per the facts page , I am unable to locate the letter in a circle.
The gun has an "E" prefix ser number (E661***)
The reciever is "engraved" with a fox on the left side and bird on the right.
It has separated barrels. , the lower (20) barrel has a band approx 5|16" back from muzzle.
It has simple folding rear dovetail sight , just ahead of a grooved rib.
I am looking for a buttstock and a trigger guard for the gun.
The grooved rib , was there a scope base that would replace that?
The gun is pretty dirty , and it is missing the stock and trigger guard. I will toss it in the was tank at work tomorrow and clean it . Everything seems to function as it should.
I also have a line on a second barrell set in .357 / 20ga. I am in hopes that we can properly fit it. I would love to find a .22 / .410 set for it as well.
Thanks for any and all help!!!!

as for the barrel portion of your post grab the 357 barrel with BOTH HANDS as fast as you can (they dont come around very often). It should fit perfectly, but 22/410 was never available in 24V series co the best you can hope for is to get an adapter for 222 to 22lr and a 410 adapter for the 20 ga.

I think the Weaver #74 scope base is the one you need. I use a Bushnell 3-9x muzzleloader scope on my 24V. The eye relief is enough that it doesn't give you scope-eye shooting slugs. But even at 3x it's pretty hard to wing-shoot with it.

OK here is a quick update , there does not appear to be ANY model 24V series D trigger guards available anywhere. It would appear that the 24V Series D is different than all the rest!!
Ahead of the trigger on the bottom of the receiver there is a slot machined with a pin pin holding a "link" that seems to be a opening "assist" lever. Apparently a spring gets tensioned between the trigger guard and the lever. I have not seen this listed or shown anywhere.
We did find a butt stock and a trigger spring today. I did grab a Marlin Model 80 trigger guard that I am going to modify to fit until I can locate (if ever) a factory part. Is the original trigger guard made of , Alum. steel , Plastic , white metal ?? Does anyone have a pic of one you could send me?
Thanks !!

Oh yea , I think I will be able to talk my brother out of the 357 / 20 barrel set too !!!
He also has a cut 222 / 20 barrel set. I think I can form #1 them and cut them to around 12" .........Hmmmmmmmmmm , we are checking into that. I can re-chamber the .222 to .223 right??
Thanks Guys !!
