So I was goint to write a new thread today saying that I was out of the shell cuff business. I have had my two most recent orders recieve their cuffs and never pay or respond to my communications for over a month. I know that my pay after you recieve the product policy was kinda naive, but I put my faith in the idea that most folks on this forum are the honest, backwoods type and up until these last two, that was the rule. I got into this as a hobbyist and was actually planning on doing more of a tutorial than starting a shoe string business. My leather supply is getting depleted and I thought that rather than resupply, it was a good time to step away. HOWEVER, this morning between my e-mail and PMs I had four new orders and I don't want to dissapoint that many folks for the holidays. So, new policy, pay first and I'll hold your money/check/money order until I hear that you have your cuff and are satisfied. I guess that I won't let a couple dishonest folks break the game. PM me or e-mail me at c_deuel@hotmail.com to place an order and get my address, my turn around won't be as fast now that I am waiting for payment first, but I'll get them out as quick as I can. $40(shipping included) for those who haven't ordered before I need the following information to get your cuff made: -Model and series (I do Baikal and Savage 2400s now) -Caliber/Gauge combo -Left or right handed -Wood or synthetic (for leather color) -Shipping address -Photos are helpful, but I can do without Thank you and have a Happy Holiday.

That totally sucks mate .
Ive had one of your quite excellent cuffs , And the workmanship and end product is far beyond anything I thought I was going to get . The price is far far lower than anything you would pay in a shop , And thats IF you could actully find one that sells them .
I guess this is a lesson that there are a few good guys still left in the world , However , Sadly we have to share it with all the other losers .
All the best fellas .
Andy .

Sadly, "trust but verify" may be the best a person can do these days. Sorry you got stiffed, but glad that you're still in business, as I'd like a couple of cuffs made!
Have you considered Paypal as an easy, up-front means of payment?
Will be contacting you soon. Dale

Dam logan...that really suks. I dont blame ya for thinking the way you have.I would be quite furious. As Andy stated, there are a bunch of losers that ruin it for everyone. Ive seen your product posted here with satisfied customers. I liked what i saw. I do agree with Dale also..paypal route is a nice way to go. Do these 2 people post here on the site? We could give them a piece of our minds also. Dont quit man...although i have no use for the cuff it is a nice accessory to see when done up nice like the way you do it. Also on their checks you should make sure it clears 1st then hold it before doing such a time consuming job. Craig

I agree with the other posters. I am in Canada so Paypal would be easier for us up in the frozen North that are interested. Also be willing to pay a little extra for any additional shipping cost.

Alright folks, I took everyone's valued input and set up a Paypal account. It's the most basic version, where I need your e-mail and I can send you an invoice. Hope this straightens out some kinks, it will definately speed up the ordering process.

I'm another fan of your cuffs....love the two you made for me.
If the two non-payers are members of this forum....how about letting the admin know....can we block them from the forum?

Logan, I am glad to read this I just picked up my first Model 24: .22LR/20ga. You work looks like just what I am looking for, for the butt stock. I will be in contact in the near future, in regards to one of your fine products.

Hey guys, just posting to say thanks for your support and ideas. Also, I am completely out of leather, I had several orders after starting this thread and it depleted my supplies. I'll post as soon as I'm resupplied. Thanks.

I'd contact them one more time. If you didn't get any results, I'd post their names here both to embarrass them and warn the rest of us not to do business with them. This forum, Marlin Owners and the GBO forum are my most trusted places on the internet. I'd like that not to be just an illusion.

Despite the holiday season, needing more supplies, multiple new orders, and oh, thinking about quitting the handmade cuff biz, Loganboone managed to get me three (count 'em, three!) cuffs within one week of our initial contact.
Two thumbs up. Thanks, Cody! Dale

I like Pete's idea. Tell us who they are so we can ban them
