Been coming here for a while, but finally signed on today... My 24 exp. started with a 22mag./20 then 222/20 24V series C. Couple months ago I picked up a 357/20 24V series D. Reamed the mag. to max. and now I think I have a new favorite 24. Barely had time to get loads worked up before putting a few miles on Maxi in the Va. mountains. First day I was able take a nice 6 pt. with it and loved its performance. Today I am putting together a few squirrel loads with some 125 gr. cast/5gr. Trailboss ... this should complete its abilities from mice to moose as the say. Would love to have the 22hornet/20 always looking but kinda pricey (nice one on GB now) Sorry for long first post ....Again just saying Hi....

Hi, Welcome. I've got one just like yours...reamed to max. Mine is cut to 18.5 inches and threaded for chokes. It's a super versatile gun.....38s, .357s, .360s and Maxis....#9 shot to buckshot and slugs. The little sucker is a shooter on top of it. I didn't have it ready to go for this rifle season. I took my buck with my Handi Rifle custom .356/.358. It is identical to the shorty 16.5 inch .45-70 shown, but an inch and a half longer. Attachments:

Decided to join. Just won an auction for a Savage 24 in .22M over 20 ga. I looked at the newer model 42 and not impressed. I have owned 2 model 24s in my life. My first was a 24V in .30-30 over 20 ga. Traded it for a Jonboat. Later got a .22M over 20 ga. Shot quite a few squirrels w/it. Looking for a .22 LR over 20 ga now.
