I have a Savage 24V-A, chambered in .30-30/20Ga. that has a real neat trap door butt plate...similar to the 24C. This butt plate is thick...probably 1/2 to 3/4 inch thick. It was professionally machined out of aluminum, and the butt stock is drilled to take the ammo. It really looks a lot better than it sounds. I just wish I had an aluminum trigger guard to match. This is the same gun that I'm looking for a trigger guard for. If I knew how to post pics of it on here, I would. I'll bet if a lot of people saw it, they'd want to modify theirs. I think I see Big Kelly headed for the machine shop right now! To go back to "original", just replace this butt plate with a replacement from some of the online supply houses.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I've made a similar modification to my 24V .223/20ga. I used a camper door and modified my butt and plate so that it holds two 20ga shells and two .223 rounds. I'll get some pics up soon.

Its easy to post pics!! (I sure would like to see what you did!!)
You need a web host. I like photobucket. Its free to join too! Upload pics to them, then once there, you will see your pics along with a few postable links. Look for the one that's bracketed in IMG. Copy that ''link'' and past it in your thread... EASY!!

CW, I have to make it clear that I did not do the machine work on my butt plate. It was already done when I got the gun.
