I figure I better ask this before I order any more parts for my "basket case".
So I have a 24V, series B if I'm not mistaken (the locking lug on the barrel, Reciever, and buttstock all have " 14 B stamped on them). The parts diagrams I found on the FAQ page indicate they're for 24V and 24V-A series rifles. When I made my order from Numrich I used their B series parts diagram to confirm everything since there seemed to be a few minor differences.
I'd like to find out how interchangeable parts for the various series rifles are. Ie will camper model stocks fit on a standard 24V? Will extractors trigger guards, etc from an A series fit in a B series? etc etc.
Also, from a portability/breakdown standpoint, is there any advantage to the Camper stock or components? I don't know much about them except that they appear to be the only model I've seen with photos of the gun actually broken down. Since I don't have the fore end stock for mine yet, I'm not sure what if any of the difference are.
Thanks all

I can't answer most of your questions. I do have a camper though and there is a definite portability advantage in the forearm. You just grab the front of the forearm and pull down. Then pull it away from the receiver. That's all you have to do to remove it. There is a spring that fits tight to the lug. I don't have a V so I'm not sure of the lug differences but I'm pretty sure there is no spring in the forearm of the V.

Thanks. I guess I need to do a little research. I'm kind of handicapped since mine's not complete right now. I can't even compare what I have to a description of the camper since I don't know exactly how the standard model breaks down.
If I end up buying all the stock parts, or if there's no good way to convert, then I'll start looking at other options.

OK fellas, I'm going to make a slightly more urgent request here... Does anybody know specifically if there are any differences between the extractors between a 24V series B and 24V series C?
Numrich has extractor assemblies for the C series and I'm thinking about calling first thing in the morning and amending my order on the chance that it's the same. (I'm noticing that from series to series there seem to be no common part numbers in Numrich, and I have a hard time believing that every single part is different)
Thanks

Both Numrich and Savage 24s will try your patience. Also your gun will take down as easily as a Camper model, it is the newer 24Fs with the synthetic stock that has an actual retaining screw. Lemme know how I can help with this franken-gun.

We talked about the barrels being soldered or pined and I stated mine does not have a pin,I looked at 24V Series C (*) Schematic and it shows the pin as you have but mine barrel does not match the picture in the mono block area. I believe that most parts will interchange between B & C series. I have seen the furniture for sale online but the Forend Assembly, 20 Ga. I have not seen I ended up repairing mine instead of replacing mine.

Excellent, thanks for the input guys. bigkelly, can you tell me which parts didn't interchange between the pinned and welded type barrels? Numrich made a reference to a "square type" and "round type" extractor, and the rep I spoke to said she thought it referred to either the plunger or the shaft on the extractor itself....
I don't trust their parts diagrams to be perfectly accurate (or savage to have been perfectly consistent with early/late series production changes), but they show the C to have a pinned barrel. If I can figure out what they're referring to it will help me confirm with them that I'm ordering exactly the right part when I call.
Thanks again everyone, this really is a huge help!

wait--- I thought you were talking about a 24V (center fire) series gun--if so then the numrich person didnt understand because the square/round type she is referencing only applies to a 24 rimfire type gun For 24V centerfire refer to the schematic--part #12--this wont fit a welded barrel gun

Yep, centerfire .222 cal/20ga. Part 12 is what I'm referring to. They have a part number for the entire assembly in stock for the C series, but its out of stock for the B series. I gave their rep the part number for the series C .222 assembly and asked what parts were included. After checking with their tech her response was along the lines of "the assembly contains parts 11, 12, 13, 14, but it's the square version". That last tidbit is what threw me off, so I went looking for a more expert opinion before ordering it. What I'm trying to determine if item 12 (in stock) here: 24V series C is compatible with item 12 (sold out) here: 24V Series B

... And of course it looks like I misidentified the series of the rifle in the first case, so a lot of my questions are now moot.
Such is life. Other than a little bit of wasted time I really haven't lost anything.
