As regulation problems seem to pop up. What have you done to combat them? I'm lucky on my 24 as it's regulation is acceptable. 22 LR dead on at 50 yards and slugs about 1 1/2" lo and 1" to the right. I'm not so lucky on my 24 DL... With the 22 mag dead on at 50 yards the 20ga slugs hit a full foot to the right and low. (I think. Only tested once) Both of these are soldered barrels so they are what they are. I have a 30/30 20ga coming this one is of coarse open. Adrelenon so I can likely do a bit of regulation. Also being it's a 24V it is drilled for scope mount so I can do something I like for my tactile rifles. It's a close range optic. I mount them off a adaptor that attached to the picitinny rail. On the savage I would use the scope mount base. It allows for a ring to be attached at 45 degrees but tight to scope. All you need to do is slightly Rostand the firearm on your shoulder to see they the optic. Ooh yea. I would use a small reflex site for a sight. I know I could use a shoot thru base/ring setup. I just really dispize them. . BUT I did grab a set off eBay last week just In case. I have also seen someone add a second dovetail for a second folding re ear site. This is slick too but as I'm finding open sites are harder and harder to see. I still see peeps good thank goodness I really like a peep site. I have also contimplated a crossbow scope. As they have a reticule with various aiming points and may be applicable to our rifles. Looking for comments and ideas. What do you think of mine and what did you do? CW

Hey Brian, Is dat you? I'm still in a quandary about mine. I really don't like the see through rings, but I can't use open sights. If it is earlier or later than high noon on a sunny day, I can't use a peep either. I suppose I have no choice but to get used to them.

Does anyone make a scope with 2 Xhairs that are individually adjustable? Probably not but that would be the ticket

Remember the old 3/4" Weaver B4 all steel scopes? Find two of those and make your own O/U mounts. One scope for each barrel. That would take care of all the "old eyes"& regulation problems. LOL

Just signed up for this forum, I used to follow the old one once in a while. I'm been a fan of the Savage 24's for a while, now I wish the prices would come back down:-) I've been trying to regulate a 24c and the latest test version has two of the marble's folding sights silver soldered on a modified dovetail slot blank. You can fold up the rear sight for the 22LR, the front sight for the shotgun with slugs, and lay both down for the shotgun with birdshot. It works fairly well, now I need to verify the robustness. Another idea for the toolbox. - Brad

We need SOMETHING for some of these guns that cannot be regulated and don't shoot true. CW

So, for the guns that don't have full length soldered barrels, why not just remove the barrel band, make a small double concave bushing to slide between the barrels, and then move it back and forth to tweak the barrels and adjust the POI?
I was actually planning to make a sliding adjustment bushing out of some nylon or delrin as part of the extensive mods that I'm doing....

I think most folks name a wedge in and shoot it. Both of mine so far have soldered barrels so I'm SOL. There is a vid on UTube where the guy regulates with wedges or coins or some such. LOL CW
