Hi All. New to the site and forum. Thanks for all the great information. Someone on another board suggested this site to ask my question. My question is: I just bought my first Model 24. It's a 24C-DL with a 24" 22WMR/20ga. I would like to pick up additional barrels in different combinations. I noticed 2 styles, joined and separated barrels. It appears the base at the hinge point is different. One has a solid base, the other has a cutout and helper spring loaded lever. Will both styles work in my 24C?

I think they are fitted to a particular receiver, such that (without some gunsmithing) it may not be a good idea to use a barrel on a receiver from even the same model but different gun.
In any case, none of the barrels on any of my 24s will fit on any of the others' receivers well enough to be safe.

Barrels will interchange safetly but usually the determining factor is the style of extractor for the shotgun barrel.there are 2 styles, differentiated by their shape, 1)the "flat " style 2) the "round" style. The flat and round designators refer to the shape of the hole the shotgun extractor fits into.I have had several model 24's in the rimfire series and some interchanged easily (just dropped in) and some needed a little "tweaking".Round extractors WILL NOT interchange with flat extractors and vice versa.round extractor 20ga WILL NOT interchange with 410 round extractors. The top pic you used is a centerfire barrel set,it will not interchange with a rim fire set.Lots of centerfire barrel interchange--I have 5 sets for my 24V. Good luck and have a ball with your barrels--its what makes collecting 24's so much fun

When I had two identical .22 mag/20 I tried switching barrels, neither would fit the other.
