I am new to the forum so if I underexplain or overexplain please
bear with me. I need detailed instructions to completely
disassemble a 24B-DL. The selector bar (like a transfer bar) that allows the hammer to
strike the upper or lower firing pin is broken. I have the two
pieces of the selector that I believe I can weld together.I have
worked on and repaired firearms (strictly as a hobbyist) my entire
life and am mechanically inclined so I can understand most anything
explained to me.I understand (from reading the forum) there is
tricks (assembly/disassembly) to the 24 so any help would be most
helpful.I would also like to smooth the trigger while apart. Thanks
for any help.

I am not familiar with your exact model but I have had my 2 24s apart for a trigger job. They were different but similar enough to not be a problem. Since you are not a stranger to minor firearm repair it shouldn't be a problem. Remove the barrel, the stock and the trigger guard. The rest should become obvious with a little close observation. Just do it, you should be ok. Read past posts and maybe take some pictures as you proceed. Good luck.

American Gunsmithing Institute (AGI) has a detailed disassemble/reassemble DVD for the Savage Model 24. It is found in their Guntech Volume #50. You can purchase the DVD from their website. I have used this DVD and found it very helpful. Also you can see my previous post on how to disassemble/reassemble the mainspring assembly. This seems to be one of the hardest parts for most people to disassemble/reassemble on the 24. As mentioned by captcapsize there are other numerous posts on this subject within this forum
