Of all the 24's this seems to be the least spoken of. I think I have seen this gun on several web sites, usually in 20/223 ,20/22lr,and maybe 20/30-30 but I may have omitted one anyone have these? and BTW O'dell how is the book coming along?

Well checking in. After I saw this post I had to attend a funeral out of town. On the way, I stopped in a gun pawn that had a big sign GUN SALE to waste some time so I didn't show too early. Right as I walked in I saw a 24DL on the shelf. I asked to see it and it was a 22LR/20ga I was ecstatic and saw $400 for price. I said I think I'd like to buy it and was told it was sold/ maybe. Then he went into a long story about what was happening with the sale. The salesman ended up getting my name and number in case it fell through. Nice gun.

The last gun show I was at around 1990, I saw a 22 mag over 20 for $60.00. I didn't have the money at the time. all that was wrong with it is the selector on the hammer was broken.
Then I had a 24V (222/20) that I cannot use in the woods here because its shot gun only here. Rifle is not allowed to be carried afield during deer season. I did acquire a 22/410 a few years ago I can take small game hunting during deer season.

This is a 24F Predator, but not a 20 gauge - its a 12. But for the image value, probably oughta do. Black synthetic stock (some had camoflauge - was that the Turkey model ?).

OK, it's nice, versatile and I love the 22 Hornet/20 combo. But dang, guys, that's a pretty butt-ugly gun. And that answers Kelly's original question of why it's "the least spoken of...."
Sort of like an ugly cousin who cooks good, but you kinda want her to stay in the kitchen when guests visit....

But the utility of having both rifle and shotgun together NOW - priceless !

Big Kelly, have you been in touch with O'Dell lately? I've been real busy... I appraise airplanes, puddle jumpers through corporate jets, and haven't been on here in a while. I want to buy one of his books as soon as they're available also. I'm still looking for a Savage 24V series D in .22 Hornet/20Ga, but unwilling to pay Gun Broker prices. Also, I'm keeping my eye out for a Savage 242 .410/.410 shotgun. I still have an extra old new stock barrel set that's unfired. Won't sell but will trade for a barrel set in .22 Hornet/20Ga.
