Well got a four tenner to go with my 24's hoping I like it. Think it will be most useful when packing and space is a concern since you can pack 50 four tens for less than the space of 25 20 gauges and for alot of subsistence hunting applications the 410 is perfectly adequate. Anyone else use em much? Tips Tricks ? ammo advice? Think $55 was a fair price? seems to have been based on what I"ve been seeing for last few weeks when searching. Anyone have any special way they carry it as part of the system (besides the obvious in the gun barrel) like to come up with somthing good for when I'm using the shotgun barrel for 20 ga shells. I have an idea to mount a folding M16 style stock to one and use the superflous buffer tube as a place to carry it but unless I can think of a better way that one is slow to retrieve the insert. Anyway just starting some discussion post anything you feel is pertinent derails allowed

Neat little accessory those 410ers. For the reasons you mention - just gives you options. I think for $55, you got a deal. Mine are a purchased set for an over / under, I paid a $75 plus s & h. Tips ? Well, patterning to see where the 'sweet spot' is may be worth it, though in a shotgun, it hasn't made a huge difference. Keep it oiled and inspect the retaining O-ring from time to time to make sure it doesn't get torn up. A PVC sleeve can be easily made from your local hardware store for field carry in your ruck sack. Mine really hasn't seen much use. When I want a .410, I take a .410 and just go with the flow. Many times, a 'barn gun' FIE SB1 set up for woods roaming.

I have both the 12ga/410 and 20ga/410 Fourtenners (have several). They work much better than the more common chamber inserts. Makes a nice 410 out of an inexpensive 12ga single barrel shotgun for training or as a garden gun. As noted PVC tube/pipes make a nice light carrying case. The only care needed is a little oil, clean bore once in a while, and check the O ring for ware (have never had to change mine in 25 yrs.). Oh, I did use the 20ga/410 in my "backdoor" Savage 24 (20ga./22LR). Great little invention, wish they still made them.

Me too it is hard to find a truely comparable product anymore if you do find one they must make em out of gold as thats the way they price em. Suprisingly Mcace doesn't offer a 20 to 410 version or I"d have likely been looking there but then again he is about twice the price of what I paid for mine.
