I have a 24F in 30-30 over 12 Gauge. Does anyone know where to get a buttstock ammo holder that will hold both types of ammo?
Thanks, Bill in GA

Logan-boone on these forums made one for me, but I don't think he is online much anymore.
You'll probably have to make your own. You can take one of those rifle ammo buttcuffs (the cheap nylon and elastic ones) and snip some of the sewing to make a couple of 2-into-1 and use it, but they don't hold the ammo tightly enough or stay put on the gun well enough for my taste.

Andy's leather did a great job on mine. Modified it to what I wanted.

Thanks all! I appreciate the replies. Logan-boone doesn't seem to have posted for over a year.
I did check out Andy's Leather webpage and bookmarked it.
I really like the design of the Hill People Gear stock cuff for 30-30 cartridges. Hill People Gear stock cuff I emailed them to ask if they would make one with four 30-30 loops and three 12 ga loops, but they don't do custom work.
I've seen some Velcro shell and cartridge holders. Perhaps I could modify some of them...

Clip the center thread out between 3 of those .30 loops and I bet it'd fit a 12ga shell just dandy.

I did stumble upon this...
Link: OP/TECH USA Stock Cover
$9.50 plus $5.95 shipping. Seems reasonable.
Has anyone here used this or heard of the company?

At the risk of being negative, I've never been impressed with the elastic cartridge loops. They seemed to always lose my ammo, especially when the elastic gets worn out. It seems like a fairly tight leather loop holds much more securely.

I took the plunge and ordered the OP/TECH USA butt stock combo holder. It arrived today and looks pretty good. I won't be able to mount it on my 24 until January, but I did slide some shells and cartridges into it. It holds three 12 ga and three 30-30 quite securely. I hope it holds up well. I'll post pictures in January once I get it installed.

OP/TECH USA is well known for their camera straps. I have their rifle sling on my Stevens 22-410 and like it.

Another option you might consider is a plain 20G shotshell holder for the butt ($10 at most gun stores) and a sling with holders for the .30-30. That's how I ended up rigging my .30-30/20 because I wanted all 5 butt holders for shot (usually, 3 x #6.5 upland game 2 3/4"; 1 #4 flitestopper prarie storm 3"; and 1 slug) and then I can still have the 4 rounds of .30-30 ready to go on the shoulder sling. I wanted a sling anyways, and I find this is really convenient - just slide the rifle out of its case and I'm ready to go.

Think I'll give that Op Tech unit a try as well - finding the combination cuff is difficult and I'm not sure how long this will be around. For around $10 as well - too good to not at least give it a go. Thank you wecole for mentioning it.
