I received a Model 24C, Series P from my dad when he passed away (.22LR over .410). Nothing fancy, just a field grade. Stayed in the closet for a long time. I finally dug it out, cleaned it up and took it to the range just for giggles. Action is good and tight. I am now a fan. I think it is pretty much ideal for a camping/hiking/emergency/keep in the back of the truck packable weapon. It is a natural pointer, lightweight (relatively, considering how adaptable it is), capable of handling a lot of shooting chores with 1 weapon. I just put a Acid Tactical buttstock shell holder/pouch on it. The rifle shell holder holds the .410 shells well and the pouch holds a box of 50 hollow points and 50 LRs with room to spare. I think I will keep it and let the kids fight over it when I am gone.

Hey good for you, those 24C's seem to be gaining value and becoming more popular. I looked up the Acid Tactical shell cuffs and I'm glad I found out about them. One of those may find its way onto one of my stocks. Thanks for the info and thanks for posting.

One thing I have noticed after adding the shell cuff is that the weapon seems to "swing" better with that weight on the back of the stock-has better balance. I was concerned that the additional weight on the right side of the stock would tilt/pull the weapon to the right but I have not seen that. Just sayin'.
Glad I was able to add to the 24 discussion.

I'm glad you've got a Model 24. They're nice guns. But I'm confused. I thought the 24C was the "camper's companion" with 20-inch barrel, but I also thought the camper came only in 20-gauge. I have five of the 24C in 20-gauge but have never seen one in .410. Is this something else I need to look for at shows? Anyone with more information?
