The Benjamin Sheridan mounts work real good for Savage model 24. They clamp to 22 barrel with screws

What about the side mounts for a 12 gauge that's drilled and tapped? Any one selling those still?

Old post. But thanks MARKHM2 for the info. Always wondered about that mount fitting the old Stevens 22-410/ Savage 24..

This is a BKL mount for high power air rifles. It uses a full length clamp, rather than front and back ring bases, giving a much stronger 'grab'. So far, I have had no problems with it shooting loose. That's a 24H, 22Mag over 410. I also added a hammer extension knob (listed for the Marlin lever guns) to clear the scope bell.

Very interesting mount pope130. Does that mount allow iron sight use as well ? Some designs have enough clearance for factory irons to be used, I've read.

Very interesting mount pope130. Does that mount allow iron sight use as well ? Some designs have enough clearance for factory irons to be used, I've read. v It's not a see-through mount. I chose it after reading the problems that people had had with mounts shooting loose on the 24. The grooves are very shallow and narrow, not allowing a good grip with a conventional mount. The barrel is even stamped with the instruction that only the 22 is to be used with the scope mounted. The BKL clamps over the full length.
I have a pouch attached to the stock with a small survival kit. Part of the kit is an Allen wrench to remove the scope (should it fail) to allow the iron sights to be used.

Here's an overall view. I put this together as a project to demonstrate a survival rifle for light plane pilots in the Pacific Northwest. The attachment on the stock is a cheek-pad on the left, with a pocket and shell holder on the right. The pocket holds a Coghlan's sardine can survival kit, a small flashlight, a pouch with thirty rounds of 22 Mag, and a Leatherman tool. It also provides an anchor for the sling (the stock is not drilled for swivels). The shell holder has seven .410 rounds (two slugs and five OOO Buck).
The sling is strung through the cheek-pad at the back and attached to a clamp-on Winchester 94 swivel base at the front. It holds six Number 6 .410s and thirteen 22 Mags.
It's planned to be a "grab and go" item. The whole thing is done as a "no gun-smithing" project.

Thanks for the quick description of your firearm. Good reasoning, wisely chosen features - good job ! Should keep a stranded traveler fed and safe.

Anyone have any idea which BKL mount this is? I tried using the links in the postings on this thread but apparently they are too old to work. Any chance someone has a link that still works? Somewhere it says one of their Sheridan mounts fits a .345" barrel. My Savage .22 upper barrel measures .395".

That's a BKL-460.
Hi pope130,
Just to be clear, this is to be for the early 24 without any dovetail cuts in the barrel. If this is right, I'll order it today.

In the first post it sure looks like the BKL-460 is clamped to a dovetail cut on the top of the barrel. Doesn't appear to be clamped around the entire diameter of the barrel.

I remember seeing a post (here somwhere) where a dude made his own mount that clamped over the whole barrel, but I cannot seem to find it. I am guessing he was a machinist. I think the last post asked if he could make another and he never answered (as I remember). He had photos of it. I gave up on putting a scope on my S-D even after a gunsmith fixed my groove. 20 gauge slugs popped it loose after a few shots. I am sticking with my peep sight.
