morning guys, I think my camper needs a 22LR firing pin, about 1 out of 50 fails to fire with a large selection of ammo, I have already removed, cleaned and polished the entire firing pin assembly with no success, am trying to order one from Numrich, but there is no 24C series R listed, the closest series is P and S . SO, my question is will the series P or S fit in my series R? Thanks, Paul

Although the Numrich site doesn't list the 24C Series R, I'd be amazed if the Series P, S, etc., rifle firing pin wouldn't be the same. The parts number for the rifle firing pin (114600) is the same for all early 24s going way back to the Stevens Model 22-410. The only difference in the parts number is the ending letter, which doesn't signify a different part in Numrich's scheme of numbering parts. I can't imagine Savage would have changed the firing pin between the P and the S series guns. I'd order any of the 114600 pins and not worry about the ending letter.

Thanks for the knowledge littleguns, will order a firing pin and spring from numrich, This 24 has not been shot allot, so am thinking it may be a faulty firing pin or spring, if that doesn't fix things i will try relieving the back of the firing pin where it seats to give it a bit more impact on the primer, If you have any other options, please school me. thanks again, Paul Although the Numrich site doesn't list the 24C Series R, I'd be amazed if the Series P, S, etc., rifle firing pin wouldn't be the same.
